Short Position: Clueless on MCO impact

GOING through the announcements on Bursa Malaysia daily in the last few days, the common information is about major shareholders seeing disposal of their shares or them nibbling into their battered down stocks.

Hardly is there any news on how the government’s Movement Control Order (MCO) is affecting the performance of companies. Out of the 1,000-odd listed companies, only 10 companies made announcements on how the MCO is affecting their operations.

Among them is Genting Malaysia which stated that it was shutting down its operations in Genting Highlands due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The other companies generally disclosed that the order did not affect their operations.
