KUALA LUMPUR: NTPM HOLDINGS BHD, the maker of Premier brand tissue paper, reported a surge in demand for its products due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The company, however, warned that its output was affected by the reduced workforce following the implementation of the movement control order (MCO) by government.

"Despite the reduction in production, the group is still able to cater to this surge in demand given its existing stock and continuing operation in Vietnam," it said.

NTPM on Friday announced it made a net profit of RM3mil for the three-month ended Jan 31.

Revenue was little changed at RM197.6mil.
