Bank Islam to offer digital products

PETALING JAYA: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has set up a new division to offer its digital banking products by 2021, in response to Malaysia’s plan to allow the creation of virtual banks that would induce non-bank players into the domestic banking scene.

Its chief executive officer (CEO) Mohd Muazzam Mohamed said the division – the Centre for Digital Experience (CDX) –- would focus on products that are in line with the objectives set out in Bank Negara’s Exposure Draft on Licensing Framework for Digital Banks.
