PETALING JAYA: The proposed merger between Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF) and Al Rajhi Bank hit a snag due to differences in which set of Islamic laws to apply for the entity.
Sources said that both parties had already agreed to use the Malaysian syariah laws when they submitted their proposal to Bank Negara in September last year.
