Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank domestic systemically important banks


It said Maybank, CIMB and Public Bank were idenified as D-SIBs based on 2018 data and the assessment methodology set out in the policy document

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd and Public Bank Bhd are deemed as domestic systemically important banks (D-SIB) under Bank Negara Malaysia's policy document issued on Wednesday.

Bank Negara said D-SIBs refer to banks whose distress or failure have the potential to cause considerable disruption to the domestic financial system and the wider economy.
