KLCI retreats as Tenaga slips again


Tenaga is bracing for new players as the government moves to open up the retail electricity market. Its shares have slumped 18% since September 2018 when the government first mooted the plan, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia got off on a cautious start again on Thursday, weighed down by Tenaga Nasional, as investor sentiment remained muted after the record closing on Wall Street overnight.

At 9.34am, the KLCI was down 6.28 points or 0.4% to 1,578.86. Turnover was 498.23 million shares valued at RM194.75mil. There were 167 gainers, 227 losers and 297 counters unchanged.
