Banks lead KLCI rebound at midday


At Bursa, Public Bank rose 22 sen to RM20.12 and gave the KLCI a 1.33 point boost, RHB Bank gained 14 sen to RM5.88 and Hong Leong Bank 12 sen to RM17.72.

KUALA LUMPUR: Banks underpinned the FBM KLCI's rebound at midday on Tuesday as investor sentiment was shored up by the firmer key Asian markets' performance as the Mideast flareup fears ebbed.

At midday, the KLCI was up 14.59 points or 0.91% to 1,612.35. Turnover was 1.75 billion shares valued at RM836.67mil. There were 421 gainers, 299 losers and 385 counters uchanged.
