UMW poised for better prospects in 2020

UMW revealed it would field four brand new sports-utility-vehicle (SUV) models in 2020, but remained tight-lipped about the model line-up

PETALING JAYA: After a disappointing performance, 2020 could spell better prospects for UMW Holdings Bhd, with the conglomerate expected to post decent earnings growth supported by its manufacturing and engineering (M&E) division.

In an institutional investor briefing hosted by Affin Hwang Capital Research, the brokerage noted that UMW was “cautiously optimistic” on its business prospects, despite the economic uncertainty and stiff competition in the automotive and equipment segments.
