MMC Corp awarded RM131mil contract

PETALING JAYA: MMC Corp Bhd (MMC) has been awarded a RM131.4mil engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract from Petronas Gas Bhd.

The Bursa filing yesterday said indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries MMC Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd and MMC Oil & Gas Engineering Sdn Bhd together with Sedia Engineering Works Sdn Bhd have accepted the work.

The three-party joint venture will be the contractor for the job which involves associated station works and a gas pipeline of some 33km in length its gas processing outfit in Kertih to Bukit Anak Dara Kijal in Kemaman, Terengganu.

The project is expected to take about three years.

The project is not expected to have any material effect on the earnings, net assets and gearing of MMC Group for the financial year ending Dec 31 2019.

However, the project is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings, net assets and gearing of MMC Group commencing from the next financial year ending Dec 31,2020.
