KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Plantation Bhd posted a net profit of RM167mil in the first nine months to Sept 30 from its continuing operations against net profit of RM556mil in the corresponding period of the previous year.
In a statement, the planter said its profit before interest and tax (PBIT) from its continuing operations in the current period of RM333mil was lower on the back of weaker crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel (PK) prices but was partially cushioned by better earnings from its Sime Darby Oils (Downstream) operations.
