Bursa sells stake in Nasdaq-listed CME Group


“The proceeds from the disposal will be utilised for the acquisition of the 25% equity interest in Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Bhd from CME Group Strategic Investments LLC as announced on Sept 18,” Bursa Malaysia said.

PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia will soon bring the country’s derivatives exchange operator entirely under its control using the cash raised from the disposal of its stake in Nasdaq-listed CME Group Inc.

The country’s stock market operator announced that it had sold 85,000 Class A common stock of CME Group for US$17.58mil (about RM73.45mil) through open market transactions on Nov 20-22.
