PETALING JAYA: The current intense competition for deposits among banks could take a “breather” following the latest round of cut in the statutory reserve requirement (SRR) ratio.
Analysts, however, said although the fight for deposits could ease they do not reckon deposit rates will change significantly in view of the recent 50 basis points (bps) cut in the SRR ratio.
