Lower earnings for MISC on higher impairment, finance costs


MISC reported its revenue declined by 3.6% to RM2.147bil from RM2.229bil in the third quarter ended Sept 30,2019.

KUALA LUMPUR: MISC Bhd posted lower net profit of RM266.10mil in the third quarter ended Sept 30,2019 due to higher impairment of assets and finance costs, coupled with higher gain on acquisition of a business a year ago.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the liquified natural gas (LNG) carrier announced that its net profit fell by 21.9% from RM341mil a year ago. Group pre-tax profit of RM287.5mil was lower than RM351.1mil a year ago.
