Aireen joins Tune Protect board as Fernandes exits

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has stepped down as Tune Protect Group Bhd’s non-executive director due to the reorganisation of the AirAsia Group leadership team while Aireen Omar has been named non-executive director.

Fernandes, who is a major shareholder of the company as well as AirAsia Group chief executive officer, became the digital insurance company’s non-executive director on July 1 after Datuk Kamarudin Meranun decided not to seek a re-appointment as director on the expiry of his regulatory tenure on June 30 with Bank Negara.
