PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED) delegation has recorded potential sales of RM21.7mil over the three-day Malaysia Fair (MyFair) 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.
The MED delegation comprised 26 entrepreneurs with 58 stock keeping units of Malaysian halal products that were promoted and marketed from Nov 2-4 at the fair.
The programme was part of the promotion and marketing of Malaysian halal products to Japan, in conjunction with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The participation of local entrepreneurs in MyFair 2019 opened up opportunities to tap into the Japanese market and build business networks with local importers, distributors and retailers for Malaysian halal products and services.
MyFair 2019 was organised by the Malaysian Embassy in Japan, which brought together a variety of Malaysian products and services.
The MED entrepreneurship promotion programme delegation in Japan was led by MED development deputy secretary-general Muhammad Razman Abu Samah along with officials from SME Corp Malaysia.
Razman also witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between MyGerak Export Council Malaysia and G-Biz East Co Ltd who were collaborating on the supply of Malaysian halal products to Japan through vending machines, grocery stores and online platforms under the Hayabusa Halal Mart brand.
