Hextar unit signs deal with Sumitomo

PETALING JAYA: Hextar Chemicals Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hextar Global Bhd (formerly known as Halex Holdings Bhd), has signed an agreement with Sumitomo Chemical Vietnam Co, Ltd (SCV) for the distribution of the company’s hallmark 150 SL herbicide for a period of five years commencing yesterday.

In a statement, Hextar said the herbicide is used for the control of unwanted weeds in rubber plantations, with further expansion into other crops.

SCV was founded in July 2008 as a subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical Asia Pte Ltd, which is part of Sumitomo Chemical Co Ltd (SCC), headquartered in Tokyo.

SCC is one of Japan’s leading chemical companies, offering a diverse range of products globally in the fields of petrochemicals, energy and functional materials, IT-related chemicals and materials, health and crop science products and pharmaceuticals.
