IHH to sell hospital stakes to fund Fortis expansion

“Fortis is now the second-biggest private healthcare player in India and it makes commercial and economic sense for a sale, given the circumstances, ” the source added.

PETALING JAYA: IHH Healthcare Bhd is planning to use the proceeds from the sale of two major hospitals in India to fund the expansion of the Fortis Healthcare group, according to sources.

“Selling these assets in India is something IHH has been looking at recently, as it allows it to streamline and grow Fortis into a formidable player, ” a source said.
