Pos Malaysia warns the United States Postal Service's move to leave the Universal Postal Union will cause a huge impact and result in potential high rates and the instability of the postal system around the world.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia is working closely with the government and all relevant bodies about the threat of the United States Postal Service (USPS) leaving the 145-year-old Universal Postal Union (UPU) on Oct 17 and the negative fallout.

The USPS's move to leave the UPU will cause a huge impact and result in potential high rates and the instability of the postal system around the world, it said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
