Lafarge Malaysia likely to be profitable


The research firm was optimistic that Lafarge Malaysia could improve its bottom line on the back of its continuous cost optimisation measures and the potential increase in cement demand moving forward, led by the execution of major construction projects such as the Light Rail Transit 3 and the East Coast Rail Link.

PETALING JAYA: Cement maker Lafarge Malaysia Bhd, whose net loss widened by over RM104mil last year, is expected to return to profitability in the financial year of 2021 (FY21), according to AllianceDBS Research.

The research firm was optimistic that Lafarge Malaysia could improve its bottom line on the back of its continuous cost optimisation measures and the potential increase in cement demand moving forward, led by the execution of major construction projects such as the Light Rail Transit 3 and the East Coast Rail Link.
