The proposed increase in postal tariffs could be a boon for logistics companies. In particular, it could benefit national courier and postal service provider Pos Malaysia Bhd, which fell into the red in the financial year ended March 31, 2019 (FY19).
On Thursday, Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo was quoted as saying the government may increase the postage hike as early as next month. Shares of Pos Malaysia closed 5.4% higher to RM1.75 apiece yesterday following the announcement.
