MMAG unit in tie-up with PT Lion

PETALING JAYA: Supply chain management company MMAG HOLDINGS BHD’s wholly owned subsidiary, Line Clear Express and Logistics Sdn Bhd, has signed a multi-year business collaboration agreement with PT Lion Express (Lion Parcel) of Indonesia’s Lion Group.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, MMAG said that this partnership would enable Malaysians or Indonesians who are residing in Malaysia to send goods or parcels to Indonesia and vice versa with peace of mind.

Both parties will deliver a range of supply chain management services, including logistics, warehousing facilities, last mile deliveries, transportation and customised solutions, along with specialised value-added services like bonded warehouse facilities in both countries and insurance coverage, using the flight network of Lion Air Group.

“Being selected to work with Lion Parcel of Indonesia has expanded our target market beyond the 30 million population size in Malaysia.

“Through our nationwide footprint in all major and secondary towns in Malaysia, consumers, in particular Indonesians, would be able to send and collect their goods at our branches, collection points and even receive goods at their door steps.” said Wong Eng Su, CEO of Line Clear Express and Logistics in the statement.

“In addition, this should also provide the catalyst for our small medium enterprise businesses to tap into the 264 million population market in Indonesia. We look forward to bringing faster connectivity with a shorter lead time for both consumer groups, ” said Wong.

“Lion Air Group with a big fleet of passenger and cargo aeroplanes, from different subsidiary groups covering the whole of Indonesia, with the last mile capability of Lion Parcel, will enable transporting goods besides people in a timely manner, ” said Farian Kirana, CEO of PT Lion Express.

Farian is confident that its partnership with Line Clear will address the delivery needs of 2.5 million Indonesians in Malaysia.

Lion Parcel was established on Feb 14,2013, predominantly catering for the domestic express and logistics courier business in Indonesia. Over the years, the company has expanded its footprint to over 185 branches and more than 4,000 over point of sales.

This has given it a 99.9% coverage area to village levels.
