Tenaga Nasional posts Q2 net profit of RM1.11b, Div 30c


Tenaga president/CEO Amir Hamzah Azizan said to support demand growth this year and beyond, the power company was maintaining, modernising and upgrading the power infrastructure with RM5.46bil capital expenditure spent as of 1HFY2019. (FY2018: RM11.82bil).

UALA LUMPUR: Power giant Tenaga Nasional posted net profit of RM1.116bil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2019, a decline of 7.7% from the RM1.237bil a year ago due to larger forex translation loss and higher finance costs.

It announced on Friday its revenue was up 3% to RM12.87bil from RM12.49bil a year ago. Earnings per share were 19.63 sen compared with 21.82 sen.
