Sime Darby Property Q2 earnings surge to RM205mil

“There continues to be underlying demand for properties in strategic locations and this is well supported by the government’s Home Ownership Campaign, ” said acting group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Hashimi AlBakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri(pic).

PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Property Bhd’s net profit jumped more than four-fold in the second quarter ended June 30 to RM205.3mil from RM46.6mil a year earlier, driven by higher property sales from its projects in Seremban, Ara Damansara, Nilai and Bukit Jelutong.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group also attributed the surge in profits to a one-off gain from a land sale in Kedah and a lower share of losses from the Battersea project in London and Sime Darby Sunrise joint ventures.
