Itausa offers US$850m for Petrobras’s bottled gas unit


Petrobras said in a filing that Itausa, the holding company for the Setubal and Villela families, in a consortium with Copagaz Distribuidora de Gas Ltda and Nacional Gas Butano, offered the highest bid for Liquigas Distribuidora SA.

SAO PAULO: A group led by Brazil’s Itausa Investimentos SA offered about 3.5 billion reais (US$850mil) for Petrobras’s bottled gas distributor, a person with knowledge of the matter said, asking not to be named because the discussions are private.

Petrobras said in a filing that Itausa, the holding company for the Setubal and Villela families, in a consortium with Copagaz Distribuidora de Gas Ltda and Nacional Gas Butano, offered the highest bid for Liquigas Distribuidora SA.
