KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI was en route to ending the week above the 1,600 mark after making little headway over the week ahead of US Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell's speech in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The local index eked out a 1.2 point gain to 1,603.67 at midday with a muted trading volume of 976.14 million shares valued at RM673.44mil. There were 289 gainers, 366 decliners and 346 counters unchanged.
