Pepper board to rebrand products to expand sales

Oversupply situation: Kuching grade one white pepper has fallen to an average of RM14, 800 per tonne, while black pepper to RM8, 200 per tonne.

KUCHING: The Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB) is rebranding dozens of downstream value-added pepper products to boost domestic sales and penetrate export markets.

The move is timely, according to newly appointed director-general Stanley Liew, as global pepper prices have plunged due to oversupply.
