KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI joined a rout in global equities amid recession fears as both the US and UK government bond yields experienced rate inversions.
On Wednesday, the yield on the benchmark 10-year US Treasury note slipped below the 2-year note, suggesting that investors are willing to accept lower yields for longer-term bonds, which economists say precedes a recession.
