KUCHING: Logs from industrial plantations have emerged as Sarawak’s top export timber species as the state drastically cuts down timber production from its natural forest in recent years.

Timber-rich Sarawak exported over 399, 000 cubic meteres of planted logs, which are of acacia mangium species, worth about RM85mil (free-on-board) in first half 2019.
