Opening doors to Gulf markets

The Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme, along with other testing, inspection and certification services offered by SIRIM QAS, fully supports the Government's efforts to promote Malaysia's export to the world.

IN its bid to remain competitive and relevant globally, SIRIM QAS has secured the Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme from the GCC Standardisation Organisation with the objective to help Malaysian industries gain access to Gulf markets.

Under the GCC Marking Scheme, a product is affixed with the Gulf Conformity Mark (G Mark) to indicate it is in conformity with the requirements set out in the applicable standards listed in the Gulf Technical Regulations. The affixing of Gulf Conformity Marking was compulsory for product categories of low-voltage electrical devices, which were meant to penetrate the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states’ markets.
