PetGas provides update on fire incident

CIMB Equities Research expects Petronas Gas

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Gas Bhd has updated that a fire at one of its gas processing plants in Paka, Terengganu, was fully extinguished.

In a statement, the group said the fire, which started at 7.43pm on Tuesday, was confined to one of the plant's equipment and was put out at 4.30am this morning.

Petronas Gas reported that the incident had no major impact to its overall operations with its other gas processing facilities ensuring uninterrupted gas supply to its customers.

It is currently working with the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the incident.

"We wish to assure members of the public that the situation is under control and no injuries or fatalities have been recorded.

"The incident posed no immediate threat to the surrounding communities with no health-related risk," it said.
