Revamp in MBM Resources board of directors

PETALING JAYA: MBM Resources Bhd (MBMR) saw a major revamp in its board of directors following its AGM on May 29.

The company’s chairman, Datuk Abd Rahim Abd Halim, who had been holding his position since 2007, has announced his retirement from the board.

According to a statement, two new board members have been appointed to the board – Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh and Wong Fay Lee. They will replace retired board members Shamshir@Shamshin Ghazali and Mustapha Mohamed. Aminar Rashid will succeed Abd Rahim as MBMR chairman, the statement said.Aminar Rashid was the managing director of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd from Nov 16, 2009 until 2012, and then president and chief executive officer from 2013 until his retirement in December 2018.

“Despite the departure of the long-serving and experienced directors and the chairman, the board is committed to ensuring continuity and has made several changes in the board’s composition to focus on plans and strategies to boost MBMR.” The restructuring of the committee also includes the appointment of the new members in the audit and risk management committee, nomination and remuneration committee.
