PETALING JAYA: Corruption, if left uncontrolled, is a huge detriment to the economic progress and democracy of a country.
The task is arduous and Malaysia has taken it a step further by amending the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act, with the introduction of Section 17A, where a commercial organisation could be prosecuted if a person associated with it commits a corrupt act to enable the organisation to acquire or retain a contract or interest.
