Poh Huat second-quarter net profit down 12%


Poh Huat said the change in demographics and the shift in the US market to trendier but more affordable household furniture had resulted in the company

PETALING JAYA: Despite higher revenue, Poh Huat Resources Bhd’s net profit fell 12% to RM9.54mil for the second quarter of its financial year ending Oct 31, 2019 (FY19), from RM10.84mil in the same period last year, due to higher expenses.

During the quarter in review, the furniture maker’s revenue rose 17.1% to RM145.01mil from RM125.53mil previously, thanks to the substantial increase in shipment of furniture from its Malaysian operations.
