Goldman Sachs’ offer not reasonable, says Tun M


Global benchmark Brent crude will average US$62.50 a barrel this year, analysts including Damien Courvalin said in a Jan 6 note, down from a previous estimate of US$70.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has been offered a compensation by multinational investment bank, Goldman Sachs, over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, but according to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the sum is not reasonable.

In a Bloomberg interview yesterday at the Asean Business Summit – The Future of Malaysia and Asean in Bangkok, he said the amount that was stolen was about US$6.9bil in total including fees for Goldman Sachs.
