TM appoints new director

PETALING JAYA: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has appointed Datuk Ibrahim Marsidi as its independent and non-executive director.In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said Ibrahim, 66, began his career with Malayan Banking Bhd in 1979 as a sub-accountant.

“He joined Petroliam Nasional Bhd in the same year and was actively involved in the development of its domestic marketing activities,” said TM, adding that Ibrahim was eventually appointed the managing director and chief executive officer of Petronas Dagangan Bhd. “Ibrahim retired from this position in December 2007.”
