PETALING JAYA: After a lacklustre start to the year, with banks generally reporting poor results in the first quarter, analysts have slashed their full-year net profit growth expectations for the sector.
Maybank Investment Bank (IB) Research said the first quarter had seen more misses than hits, with net interest margin (NIM) compression and generally slower capital markets impacting earnings.
