KUALA LUMPUR: PRG Holdings Bhd, through its 60.42% owned subsidiary, Furniweb Holdings Ltd, has opened its first Philipp Plein flagship outlet in Southeast Asia, making its first business venture into the fashion apparel industry.
In a statement Tuesday, PRG said the store is located at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, part of the internationally-known Marina Bay Sands integrated resort designed by Moshe Safdie.
Philipp Plein’s first Singapore monobrand store is a majestic boutique developed on two floors: men’s area on the first floor on and women’s on the second, with a total shopping area of 236 sq m. Each floor of the shop has its own entrance, allowing customers to visit only one or both levels.
PRG is primarily involved in manufacturing, property development, construction and healthcare businesses.
In April 2018, PRG announced that Furniweb, which is listed on the Growth Enterprise Market board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, had entered into a letter of intent with Philipp Plein International AG and Plein Sport AG to record the intention to start a business collaboration initially in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
“We are enthusiastic to capture new business opportunities and are strategic about the projects we take on. We believe the association with a famous global apparel brand will bring new elements and dimension to the group’s profile, potentially broaden the customer base for our existing core business and provide opportunities for growth,” Furniweb said in the statement.
