Elevating local businesses; 88 to be identified for export plan


In an exclusive interview with StarBiz, Matrade deputy chief executive officer Sharimahton Mat Saleh (pic) said that MTCDP is an exclusive government programme to unleash the full potential of the mid-tier companies to shape them into renowned global brands.

KUALA LUMPUR: In its pursuit to elevate more Malaysian homegrown businesses into the global supply chain, Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) expects to put 88 high-performing mid-tier companies on an accelerated export growth platform between 2019 and 2020.

Under Matrade’s Mid-Tier Companies Development Programme (MTCDP), qualified mid-tier companies will receive expert consultations, strategic planning, link-up with foreign partners and adequate guidance to expand their exposure beyond Malaysian borders – all at zero cost and funded by the government.
