TNB sets aside RM9bil as capex


said its unit, TNB Bukit Selambau Solar Sdn Bhd (TBSS), had reached financial close for the project with MUFG Bank (M) Bhd (formerly Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (M) Bhd).

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is allocating between RM9bil and RM9.5bil for capital expenditure for the current financial year ending Dec 31, 2019.

TNB chief financial officer Nazmi Othman said of the amount, RM6bil would be used for its grid division, RM2.5bil for the power generation division, and the remainder for renewable energy and smart metering expansion.

Last year, TNB spent RM12bil on capex.
