Former Perodua CEO Aminar nominated as MBM Resources director


KUALA LUMPUR:MBM Resources Bhd has received a notice from its largest shareholder, Med-Bumikar Mara Sdn Bhd to propose Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh as director in the company. 

Aminar, 59, (pic) is the former president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Monday, MBM said Med-Bumikar Mara had on Friday given notice of its intention to propose his appointment as MBM independent non-executive director at the upcoming MBM’s annual general meeting on May 29.

Med-Bumikar Mara had also proposed Wong Fay Lee’s appointment as MBM non-independent non-executive director.

“The board of directors will take the necessary action accordingly and will make the appropriate announcement in relation thereto in due course,” it said. 

As at March 29, 2019, Med-Bumikar Mara has 49.5% direct stake in MBM while Employees Provident Fund Board has a 13.78% stake.
