Sukuk issuances picking up in the first quarter

KUALA LUMPUR: Sukuk issuances in the first quarter of the year are picking up and it looks to be “cautiously optimistic” for a fairly good year of fundraising, said Securities Commission deputy chief executive Datuk Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin.

“There has been a stream of sukuk issuances and applications, with sukuk issuances in the first quarter surpassing the levels of last year’s first quarter.
