Shahril not reducing stake in Sapura Energy

PETALING JAYA: The 600 million shares or 3.76% stake in Sapura Energy Bhd that was sold off by Sapura Technology Sdn Bhd, the investment vehicle of Tan Sri Shahril Shamsuddin (pic) and family, was actually excess shares, and not shares of their own core shareholding.

Thus, Shahril and family are not reducing their stake in the company, but merely selling off the excess shares from the underwriting portion of the RM4bil rights issue that was completed in January.
