KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia has launched the all-new BMW 3 Series, the seventh generation of the iconic sports sedan.
Available only in one variant, the 330i M Sport is priced at RM328,800 (on-the-road without insurance).
The BMW 3 Series is one of the most successful cars from the German marque, having a 45-year old history, and has sold 15 million units worldwide.
“The BMW 3 Series is the model that established the premium sports sedan segment. For over 45 years, the 3 Series has continuously raised the benchmark in the premium automotive industry.
“The all-new BMW 3 Series, in its seventh generation, takes the signature characteristics of a BMW to another level with a new dynamic design, superior driving dynamics as well as technology and innovation never seen before in the Malaysian automotive industry,” said BMW Group Malaysia managing director Harald Hoelzl.
The new 3 Series comes in the M Sport package exclusively for Malaysia and features a dynamic sporty design which is longer, taller and wider than its predecessor. It has an in-line four-cylinder petrol engine and an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.
It also features the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with voice recognition intelligence as well as innovative functions such as the BMW Digital Key for owners to unlock their vehicles and start the engine with the use of a selection of Android smartphones with Near Field Communications (NFC) technology.
The new premium sports sedan also has the Parking Assistant which features the new Reversing Assist which records the car’s journey every 50 metres, enabling it to semi-autonomously reverse at low speeds through narrow corners.
At the launch, BMW Malaysia also previewed the new and upcoming BMW Z4 roadster with an estimated price of RM460,000 (on-the-road without insurance).
