TNB committed to delivering value to stakeholders

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is committed to sustaining shareholder value creation, providing reliable and excellent service to customers, and continuing employee professional development and empowerment despite a change in leadership.

The state-owned utility giant reiterates that even with organisational change at the highest level, the company will continue to uphold sustainability at its core with its increasing emphasis on renewable energy and energy solutions.

“TNB has exemplified the highest standards of corporate governance and makes no exception in relation to its leadership appointments,” it said in a statement today.

TNB yesterday announced the appointment Amir Hamzah Azizan as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective April 2, replacing incumbent president cum CEO Datuk Seri Azman Mohd, who is resigning from his job after over six years, with effect from March 31.

“TNB is grateful for the contributions made by Azman since his appointment in 2012, that saw the doubling of TNB’s market value as a result of the transformation that the company has undertaken over the past few years.

“Through this transformation, Azman has set TNB on a path of higher aspiration by leading and inspiring its employees, inculcating a new work culture that ensures they are today better equipped and prepared for the disruptive worldwide trends in the utility industry that have been observed globally,” it said.

It added that Amir Hamzah’s diverse experiences in many multinational companies and the energy sector will be vital to the group’s Reimagining TNB transformation journey to bring it to the next level and its aspiration of being a top 10 utility globally by 2025. - Bernama
