HSBC Amanah bags deal of the year


KUALA LUMPUR: HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd bagged the Deal of the Year award for the world’s first United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal sukuk at the recent Islamic Finance News Awards 2018 (IFN) here.

In a statement, HSBC said the bank also received two additional awards for Country Deal of the Year and Social Impact Deal of the Year for the RM500 million landmark issuance.

Chief executive officer Arsalaan Ahmed said HSBC had always been at the forefront of innovation in Islamic financing, having structured and lead-managed numerous award-winning, landmark sukuk transactions on behalf of clients.

The IFN awards ceremony honoured the most distinguished and impactful players in the Islamic Finance industry and recognised contributors to it under two categories, namely the Best Bank Polls and Deal of the Year. - Bernama
