BUKIT MERTAJAM: Harley-Davidson Malaysia expects sales to increase following the reduction in the prices of 12 of its models.
Following the establishment of a new Harley-Davidson assembly plant in Thailand last year, the prices of seven Softail 2019 series models and five Sportster 2019 series motorcycles have been lowered, said Penang branch operator Goh Kian Sin.
Goh, who is also the director of Goh Brothers Motorcycles Sdn Bhd and Didi Resources Sdn Bhd, Harley-Davidson Malaysia’s sole distributor and importer, said prices for the Sportster 2019 models now starts from RM62,600, instead of RM76,426 last year.
Meanwhile, prices for the American motorcycle brand’s Softail 2019 models now ranges from RM97,200 to RM122,400.
“We believe the new prices will boost sales in Malaysia,” Goh told reporters at the opening of Harley-Davidson’s newly upgraded dealership outlet in Juru Auto City.
He said the company was also considering expanding the outlet into a service hub for the northern region and had invested RM6mil in upgrading the 555.47-sq-m facility. — Bernama
