PetDag Q4 net profit plunges on price slump

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, PetDag said revenue from its retail segment rose by RM95.1mil due to the higher sales volume recorded, which was mainly contributed by diesel.

PETALING JAYA: Despite a 10.3% rise in revenue for the fourth quarter of financial year 2016, Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PetDag) saw its net profit plunging 83.2% to RM46.6mil due to the slump in petroleum product prices in November and December last year.

For the three-month period ended Dec 31, 2018, the group saw its revenue rising to RM7.9bil on the back of higher sales volume and an increase in average selling prices.
