For April, the 30-stock index was up 9.46 points or 0.58% from a month ago.

KUALA LUMPUR: Fund buying of Petronas-linked stocks gave Bursa Malaysia the much needed boost after it spent most of the day in the red as general market sentiment was lacklustre following the fall in highway concessionaires.

At 5pm, the KLCI was up 3.16 points or 0.18% to 1,724.58. Turnover was 2.62 billion shares valued at RM2.15bil. The broader market was more cautious with 481 losers to 386 gainers and 380 counters unchanged.
