Khazanah projects dividend payout of over RM1b in 2019

KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd projects a dividend payout of over RM1bil to the government in 2019, according to managing director Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan.

For comparison, in 2017, the sovereign wealth fund declared RM1bil in dividend as it recorded an all-time-high total investment value of RM115.6bil.

Khazanah’s financial results and dividend payout for 2018 are expected to be announced by the end of this month.

Sharil spoke to reporters at the Nomura Islamic Asset Management Malaysia’s 10th anniversary conference on Monday (Feb 18).

On a separate matter, Shahril said Khazanah will decide on pumping more money into Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) after the national airline submits its strategic business plan.

“We are still waiting for them to come back to us with their strategy,” he said.

In 2014, Khazanah took the airline company private and injected a total of RM6bil in investments to help recover the financially troubled company.
