G3 Global unit goes into big data business with Kop Mantap

Companies that provide short-term consumer loans at high interest rates are on the increase in countries like Indonesia and the Philippines as many people struggle to get advances through traditional channels such as banks.

PETALING JAYA: G3 Global Bhd’s subsidiary AG3 Sdn Bhd has entered into a partnership with Kop Mantap Bhd (KMB) to venture into the technology of artificial intelligence, big data and security business in Malaysia.

In a statement, G3 said under this partnership, KMB would acquire 20% in AG3 Sdn Bhd while G3 would own a 60% stake in AG3.

AGA Global Associate Holding Sdn Bhd would own the remainder 20%.

“In this collaboration, AG3 is responsible to provide its industry expertise and knowledge which includes technology and technical support of the artificial intelligence, security and big data analysis in Malaysia whereas KMB is responsible for the business development of AG3,” G3 said.

KMB is an investment arm of the Royal Malaysia Police Cooperative Bhd and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Malaysia Police Cooperative Bhd (KPD).

G3, on the other hand, originally operated an apparel business, but it had since December 2015 diversified into the information and communications technology business via the acquisition of Atilze Digital Sdn Bhd.
